Informed by the voices of students, schools can be better designed for students
Launched in 2021, FoS Student Ambassadors meets the critical need to elevate student voice and support students to become influential changemakers in education based on their fresh, relevant perspectives of K–12 education―its strengths and weaknesses.
Through the program, Future of School prepares and promotes a select group of FoS Student Scholarship winners as leaders who share their compelling personal stories as advocates for blended and online learning. These stories collectively serve to galvanize all stakeholders in education―students, parents, teachers, administrators, policymakers, and business leaders—to empower our youth to become the changemakers of today, tomorrow, and beyond.
Elevating student voice within the education conversation ensures that K–12 transformation has an impact far beyond school walls:
Real-life students’ stories and first-person perspectives demonstrate the tangible, yet historically difficult-to-measure benefits of blended and online learning with respect to equitably preparing students to succeed in college, career, and beyond.
Relevant student voices can highlight to decision-makers the critical importance of blended and online learning in K–12 schools.
More students and families become aware of personalized options available to them. When positively influenced by a relevant peer are more likely to take advantage of these options.
Real-time feedback and insights from an engaged cadre of student leaders improves the timeliness and relevance of Future of School’s programs and contributes to purposeful changes within schools across America.
FoS Ambassadors develop their leadership skills in real-time by providing hands-on consultation to districts, schools, and education organizations looking to improve the experience for all learners.
