“online school has completely changed my life”

– Anna Easterday

The concept of insanity is defined by repeating a task and expecting a different result; that is what my experience in traditional classes felt like. I attended public school for my first two years of high school. During that time, I found my day dedicated to unproductive and non-educational tasks; I wasn’t challenged, but I was still emotionally exhausted at the end of the day. This became damaging to my health and love of learning, and my retention began to falter as well.

At the end of my sophomore year, I got a part-time job to fund my efforts in joining the online/blended learning community. Through my new institution, which I have been attending for two years, I was able to take early online college and blended courses.

Through these courses, I found myself always feeling productive and engaged with the work I am doing. With much more free time, I was able to rediscover my love of learning, pursue more community volunteering, and adopt a much healthier lifestyle in my daily life.
