Online and blended learning courses provide students with flexibility and a personalized learning experience based on their skills and areas of interest while ensuring the student meets state requirements. The courses I chose were academically rigorous while providing me with the necessary flexibility to participate in several extracurricular activities, internships, travels, and service in my community. These courses also allowed me to earn college credits online, explore possible careers, and discover my love for Computer Science. I have seen the difference between traditional and blended/online learning. The biggest variant for me was the ability to work at my own speed, manage my schedule, and dive deeper into topics of interest. I was able to work ahead of grade level in the courses I was strong in, particularly Math, while still being well-rounded through liberal arts classes.
I have loved my online high school experience because it has challenged me and helped me meet my goals.
